A Day at Copperbox Arena with Savills and Access Sport
A couple of weeks ago we had the privilege of supporting an incredible event at the Copperbox Arena in London. The Savills Property Management team, in partnership with Access Sport, came together to support Managing to Give—Savills’ initiative focused on providing children and young people with better access to sport.
Colleagues from across the division came together, volunteering their time to help raise awareness of this great initiative. The event was more than a wheelchair basketball tournament - it was an opportunity to understand more about the importance of engaging people in sport from underprivileged backgrounds and help break down the barriers.
One of the key highlights of the day was an inspiring talk from Gaz Choudhry, a three-time Paralympic wheelchair basketball medallist. He demonstrated the impact of sport on his well-being and personal growth. Listening to his experiences, challenges, and triumphs reminded us all why initiatives like Managing to Give are so essential. Sport isn’t just about competition; it’s about confidence, inclusion, and community.
Research shows that regular participation in sports helps improve physical and mental health, fosters teamwork and leadership skills, and boosts self-esteem. However, many young people face significant barriers to accessing sports, whether due to financial constraints, lack of facilities, or limited opportunities for inclusion. This is where Managing to Give steps in. By partnering with organisations like Access Sport, Savills is actively working to bridge the gap and provide better access to sporting opportunities for all young people, regardless of their circumstances.
The event at Copperbox Arena was a reminder that we all have a role to play in creating a more inclusive world. Whether through corporate initiatives, community programs, or personal advocacy, every effort counts.
We left feeling inspired and motivated, and look forward to more opportunities to support Managing to Give!
