Our mission is always to create distinctive, engaging & enduring places; each capable of extraordinary experiences. Each location is different, yet the process to realise a BID that can unlock that difference is highly regulated, heavily scrutinised by levy paying business and surrounded by case studies offering best (and worst!) practice. Our customers tell us that our approach to developing and renewing BIDs is unique, structured, reassuring and sets us apart from others.

As the BID industry evolves, and our own division continues to expand, the Savills Place team have taken the opportunity to review and update the methodology we use.

So, today, we are celebrating the introduction of the ‘ABC of BID development and renewal’, an updated model, developed by our team of experienced BID practitioners, all of whom have first-hand knowledge of operating BID ballots.

The new ABC approach will resonate with BIDs throughout their ballot process and help to set clear milestones along the way. It updates our 5-stage approach which introduced the Feasibility, Planning, Local Authority, Campaign and Establishment Stages. In the new process (A) requires developing or renewing BIDs to ‘Analyse’ the location and its competition; (B) is the ‘Build’ of the proposal; (C) is where the team works to ‘Create’ a compelling ballot campaign.

Once successful at ballot, the new BID Body would follow on to ‘Deliver’ (D) on their manifesto commitments and continuously ‘Evaluate’ (E) their outputs throughout the term.

Our own company values require us to get and stay ahead by adopting an entrepreneurial approach to our work. The new ABC is further demonstration to the industry of our commitment to this.
