With the support of Savills Place-Shaping & Marketing, businesses in Redditch town centre have voted in favour for a Business Improvement District (BID).

90% of businesses voted in favour of the BID by number, with 81% in favour by rateable value, representing a 30% turnout in total.

Over £1.4 million will be invested into the BID area over the next five years through a wide range of initiatives designed to promote and improve the town centre offer.

The BID will now dedicate itself to planning and preparing a number of initiatives businesses expressed their desire for, including but not limited to, increased marketing, events, promotion and safety in the town centre.

Chair of the Revitalise Redditch Steering Group, said “With the help of Savills, we have successfully developed a BID for Redditch. We have enjoyed working with the Savills team and are delighted that we can now shape the town centre in the way businesses have asked us to."

Paul Clement, director, head of place-shaping at Savills said "We are extremely pleased for Redditch and thank the team for appointing us to help develop the BID. Every place we work with has its own character, and we have thoroughly enjoyed helping Redditch create their business plan which includes many great projects and initiatives. It is these which will help raise the profile of Redditch over the next give years and bring a number of improvements to the place.”
